This course aims to teach the objective procedures for the proper design of a pleasure boat.
The eld of yacht design
Sector dedicated to luxury and fun is always a point of reference for countries around the world.
We have revolutionized the design market since 1940 and then with the industrial revolution, we have transformed the historic brands like Riva and many others into real social status.
In the new global market the market changes, and we also have to adapt to the new way of the fun for the sea.
This course aims to train students to the new labor market, to learn about new types of boats and new methods of shipbuilding. Ecological and more dedicated to a sensitive market’s aware of the preservation of our world.
This is why the new boat must be designed consciously economic saving construction and use daily. For this ecologic composite material and hybrid engines will be the key themes of this course.
The course is open not only to graduates and undergraduates in Architecture, Engineering, Architects junior designer, graduate courses at School of Design.
This course is open to all people who love the sea and know the world of sailing and while not the technicians “naval architects” want to deepen these technical topics.
a. BA- students having an interest in entrepreneurship, creativity, the creative industries and/or social innovation
b. BA-students thinking about starting their own company (or having a business idea) in the ICT/creative industry, with an aim to contribute to social change and innovation.
This programme is aimed at current design students or new professionals who wish to broaden and enrich their design experience in the capitals of yacht design.
Studio sessions will be supported by visits to shipyards and yacht.
To attend this practical course the participants must have a good knowledge of 3D modeling, know the program “Rhinoceros”. Have a good ability to freehand drawing and basic knowledge of the software Photoshop.
